my name is ola lanko. i am an artist with background in sociology, psychology, somatic work and education. in the past decade i have been building a continuous ever-changing practice provoking change in established belief systems through confrontation, questioning, dialogue and unfolding.

 

i evoke a disruptive change by means of imagination and critical thinking.

my practice has a transdisciplinary nature where i apply an intuitive approach to systematic thinking. i am building complex multifaceted projects that are organised in layered structures and aesthetic manifestations. ​alongside my research and process based artistic practice i teach and mentor at Royal academy of art in the hague and gerrit rietveld academy in amsterdam. i develop my methodology to make the complexity of the world more enjoyable.
